Celebrating Our Team: Social Events at BGR
At BGR, we understand that building a strong, happy, and connected team is key to our success. That’s why we prioritize hosting engaging internal events for our staff throughout the year. From welcoming new trainees to promoting wellness and celebrating special days, our calendar is packed with opportunities to connect, unwind, and have fun.
First-Year Event
Kicking off the year in style, we welcomed our new SAICA and SAIPA trainee accountants with a series of in-office and outdoor activities. This year’s event included a lively game of bowling, an office braai, and a spirited match of padel. These moments aren’t just about introductions—they’re about making everyone feel part of the BGR family from day one.
Active April: A Healthy Competition
April brought some friendly rivalry as we launched our Active April Challenge to promote health and wellness. Staff from different offices competed to log the most active minutes, and BGR Cato in Hermanus emerged as the champions with an impressive average of 13 active hours per person. It was a great way to stay motivated, encourage team spirit, and keep moving!
Annual BGR Sports Day
One of the most anticipated events of the year, our Annual Sports Day, brought all the BGR offices together for a day of fun, laughter, and a little competition. This year’s activity, Acrobranch, pushed us to step out of our comfort zones and bond through adventure. Adding to the excitement, we held our traditional dress-up competition, with each office showing off their creativity and team pride.
Women’s Day and “Mannedag”
We love celebrating our team members on special occasions. For Women’s Day, our amazing women enjoyed a sophisticated high tea and breakfast, paired with a heartfelt baby shower. Meanwhile, the men at BGR marked “Mannedag” with an adrenaline-filled day of paintball, fostering camaraderie and teamwork in true BGR fashion.
Year-End Celebration
We ended the year on a high note with an unforgettable Red Bus Tour of Cape Town, giving our team the chance to take in the stunning sights of the city. The day was capped off with a glamorous prize-giving ceremony and a delicious three-course meal that left everyone feeling celebrated and appreciated. It was the perfect way to reflect on a successful year and recharge for the next one.
